Hi guys !

If you’re here, that’s because you’re interested in photography tips and looking for some advices… Well, don’t worry, you’re at the right place !

But first things first : you need to know how it works when you take a shot with a reflex, and that will be the subject of this article. Indeed, if you want to take beautiful shots, you have to understand how you camera is working, by this way you will control it and you'll be more confident. So keep it up, and let's start !

At the moment you push on the trigger (or the shutter button) the light beam of the scene you are shooting cross the lens until the first mirror, located in the body of your camera. This one will pull up to let the light reach to the image sensor, which records the scene.

But just before the light beam reach the sensor, there’s one last step : the camera activate the shutter. The shutter let the light pass during the time decided by the photographer himself, which vary the exposition of the photograph. For sure you saw written the term ISO on your screen, that's what we're talking about : the ISO depends on the shutter speed.

Here's a little drawing to be clearer :

And here we are, you have you picture in the box !
